حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِي شُعَيْبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عُمَارَةَ. ح وحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْعُمَارَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏الْمَعْنَى عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا كَبَّرَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ سَكَتَ بَيْنَ التَّكْبِيرِ وَالْقِرَاءَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقُلْتُ لَهُ:‏‏‏‏ بِأَبِي أَنْتَ وَأُمِّي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَرَأَيْتَ سُكُوتَكَ بَيْنَ التَّكْبِيرِ وَالْقِرَاءَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَخْبِرْنِي مَا تَقُولُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ اللَّهُمَّ بَاعِدْ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ خَطَايَايَ كَمَا بَاعَدْتَ بَيْنَ الْمَشْرِقِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏اللَّهُمَّ أَنْقِنِي مِنْ خَطَايَايَ كَالثَّوْبِ الْأَبْيَضِ مِنَ الدَّنَسِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏اللَّهُمَّ اغْسِلْنِي بِالثَّلْجِ وَالْمَاءِ وَالْبَرَدِ .

Urdu Translation

ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم جب نماز کے لیے تکبیر ( تکبیر تحریمہ ) کہتے تو تکبیر تحریمہ اور قرآت کے درمیان ( تھوڑی دیر ) خاموش رہتے تو میں نے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے عرض کیا: میرے ماں باپ آپ پر قربان ہوں، تکبیر تحریمہ اور قرآت کے درمیان آپ جو سکتہ کرتے ہیں، مجھے بتائیے آپ اس میں کیا پڑھتے ہیں؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: «اللهم باعد بيني وبين خطاياى كما باعدت بين المشرق والمغرب اللهم أنقني من خطاياى كالثوب الأبيض من الدنس اللهم اغسلني بالثلج والماء والبرد» اے اللہ! جس طرح تو نے مشرق و مغرب کے درمیان دوری رکھی ہے اسی طرح میرے اور میرے گناہوں کے درمیان دوری فرما دے، اے اللہ! تو مجھے گناہوں سے اسی طرح پاک و صاف کر دے جیسے سفید کپڑے کو میل سے پاک کیا جاتا ہے، اے اللہ! تو میرے گناہوں کو برف پانی اور اولوں سے دھو دے ۔

English Translation

Abu Hurairah said: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم kept silence between the takbir and the recitation of Quran. So I asked him, for whom I would give my father and mother as ransom: What do you say during you period of silence between the takbir and the recitation? He replied (that he said): O Allah, purify me from sins as a white garment is purified from filth. O Allah, wash away my sings with snow, water and hail.
