Baab Taharat Aur Us Ke Ehkaam O Masail

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ قَيْسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ حُمَيْدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْعَوْفِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ الْأَشْجَعِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قُمْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَيْلَةً فَقَامَ فَقَرَأَ سُورَةَ الْبَقَرَةِ لَا يَمُرُّ بِآيَةِ رَحْمَةٍ إِلَّا وَقَفَ فَسَأَلَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَا يَمُرُّ بِآيَةِ عَذَابٍ إِلَّا وَقَفَ فَتَعَوَّذَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ ثُمَّ رَكَعَ بِقَدْرِ قِيَامِهِ يَقُولُ فِي رُكُوعِهِ:‏‏‏‏ سُبْحَانَ ذِي الْجَبَرُوتِ وَالْمَلَكُوتِ وَالْكِبْرِيَاءِ وَالْعَظَمَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ سَجَدَ بِقَدْرِ قِيَامِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ قَالَ فِي سُجُودِهِ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ قَامَ فَقَرَأَ بِآلِ عِمْرَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ قَرَأَ سُورَةً سُورَةً .

Urdu Translation

عوف بن مالک اشجعی رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں ایک رات رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ ( نماز پڑھنے کے لیے ) کھڑا ہوا، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کھڑے ہوئے اور آپ نے سورۃ البقرہ پڑھی، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کسی رحمت والی آیت سے نہیں گزرتے مگر وہاں ٹھہرتے اور سوال کرتے، اور کسی عذاب والی آیت سے نہیں گزرتے مگر وہاں ٹھہرتے اور اس سے پناہ مانگتے، پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اپنے قیام کے بقدر لمبا رکوع کیا، اور آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے رکوع میں: «سبحان ذي الجبروت والملكوت والكبرياء والعظمة» پڑھا۔ پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اپنے قیام کے بقدر لمبا سجدہ کیا، سجدے میں بھی آپ نے وہی دعا پڑھی، جو رکوع میں پڑھی تھی پھر اس کے بعد کھڑے ہوئے اور سورۃ آل عمران پڑھی، پھر ( بقیہ رکعتوں میں ) ایک ایک سورۃ پڑھی۔

English Translation

Narrated Awf ibn Malik al-Ashjai: I stood up to pray along with the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم; he got up and recited Surat al-Baqarah (Surah 2). When he came to a verse which spoke of mercy, he stopped and made supplication, and when he came to verse which spoke of punishment, he stopped and sought refuge in Allah, then he bowed and paused as long as he stood (reciting Surah al-Baqarah), and said while bowing, Glory be to the Possessor of greatness, the Kingdom, grandeur and majesty. : Then he prostrated himself and paused as long as he stood up and recited Surat Aal Imran (Surah 3) and then recited many surahs one after another.
