Sunan Abu Dawood 944 - Prayer (Kitab Al-Salat)

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ الْأَخْنَسِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْأَبِي غَطَفَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ التَّسْبِيحُ لِلرِّجَالِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَعْنِي فِي الصَّلَاةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالتَّصْفِيقُ لِلنِّسَاءِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏مَنْ أَشَارَ فِي صَلَاتِهِ إِشَارَةً تُفْهَمُ عَنْهُ فَلْيَعُدْ لَهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَعْنِي الصَّلَاةَ . قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ وَهْمٌ.

Urdu Translation

ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: سبحان الله کہنا مردوں کے لیے ہے یعنی نماز میں اور تالی بجانا عورتوں کے لیے ہیں، جس نے اپنی نماز میں کوئی ایسا اشارہ کیا کہ جسے سمجھا جا سکے تو وہ اس کی وجہ سے اسے لوٹائے یعنی اپنی نماز کو۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث وہم ہے ۱؎۔

English Translation

Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: Saying Tasbih applies to men during prayer and clapping applies to women. Anyone who makes a sign during his prayer, a sign which is intelligible by implication, should repeat it (i. e. his prayer). (Abu Dawud commented on the Hadith saying, this is a result of confusion. )
