Sunan Abu Dawood 970 - Prayer (Kitab Al-Salat)

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ النُّفَيْلِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ الْحُرِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُخَيْمِرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَخَذَ عَلْقَمَةُبِيَدِي فَحَدَّثَنِي، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ مَسْعُودٍ أَخَذَ بِيَدِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَخَذَ بِيَدِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ فَعَلَّمَهُ التَّشَهُّدَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَ دُعَاءِ حَدِيثِ الْأَعْمَشِ، إِذَا قُلْتَ هَذَا أَوْ قَضَيْتَ هَذَا فَقَدْ قَضَيْتَ صَلَاتَكَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏إِنْ شِئْتَ أَنْ تَقُومَ فَقُمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَإِنْ شِئْتَ أَنْ تَقْعُدَ فَاقْعُدْ .

Urdu Translation

قاسم بن مخیمرہ کہتے ہیں کہ   علقمہ نے میرا ہاتھ پکڑ کر مجھ سے بیان کیا کہ عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ نے ان کا ہاتھ پکڑا ( اور انہیں نماز میں تشہد کے کلمات سکھائے ) اور رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ کا ہاتھ پکڑا اور ان کو نماز میں تشہد کے کلمات سکھائے، پھر راوی نے اعمش کی حدیث کی دعا کے مثل ذکر کیا، اس میں ( اتنا اضافہ ) ہے کہ جب تم نے یہ دعا پڑھ لی یا پوری کر لی تو تمہاری نماز پوری ہو گئی، اگر کھڑے ہونا چاہو تو کھڑے ہو جاؤ اور اگر بیٹھے رہنا چاہو تو بیٹھے رہو۔

English Translation

Narrated Abdullah ibn Masud: Alqamah said that Abdullah ibn Masud caught hold of his hand saying that the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم caught hold of his (Ibn Masud's) hand and taught him the tashahhud during prayer. He then narrated the (well known ) tradition (of tashahhud). This version adds: When you say this or finish this, then you have completed your prayer. If you want to stand up, then stand, and if you want to remain sitting, then remain sitting.
