Amla

Amla is a round shaped, vertical striped fibrous fruit of the deciduous tree "Euphorbiaceae" found mainly in India. It is greenish yellow in color and tastes sour. Since amla is rich in antibacterial qualities, it helps the body fight better against infection and also builds up your immunity, which makes you more resistant to diseases. - Suffering from an upset stomach? With its powerful laxative qualities, amla is great for curing diarrhoea and dysentery. - It is a commonly used ingredient in several hair tonics because it is known to curb hair loss, stimulate growth and strengthen the roots. - Studies say that having amla powder mixed with honey and butter before a meal will improve appetite. - To get relief from acidity, mix one gram of amla powder with some sugar and add it to a glass of water or milk and drink it twice a day.
