Joint the chicken. Wash and soak the dhal in water for an hour before use. Mince the garlic and onions. Chop the chillis and tomatoes. Fry the onions and garlic in a little oil until golden brown. Add the cummin seeds, coriander, chilli, garam masala, lemon juice and turmeric. Fry well and ads! 2 table¬spoons water and cook until dry. Put in the chicken and fry for 10 minutes. Drain dhal and add. Mix well then add the coriander leaves, chillis, tomatoes and salt to taste. Pour in a pint of hot water and simmer covered until the chicken is tender. Add a little more water if necessary. Serve with rice.
