Shell and boil the green peas then mash them. Mix with the poppy seeds and add sufficient gram flour to make a stiff paste. Mould into balls and fry till golden brown. Drain and set aside. Mince onion finely and peel and cube potatoes. Fry the spices in a little oil until the raw smell disappears. Add the onions and fry until brown. Add the potatoes and a little water and cook till tender. Season with salt and add the pea koftas before serving. Serve with a salad.
