Ingredients
  1. 1 ½ lb. leg of lamb, boned
  2. 2 cartons yoghurt
  3. 1 teaspoon chili powder
  4. ½ teaspoon turmeric powder 2-inch fresh root ginger
  5. 2 cloves garlic
  6. 2 onions
  7. salt to taste
  8. ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  9. ½ teaspoon ground cloves
  10. ½ teaspoon ground cardamoms
  11. ½ teaspoon ground cummin seeds 1 oz. creamed coconut
  12. Small bunch coriander leaves sprig of mint
Method
  • Cut meat into small cubes. Mix yoghurt, chilli powder and turmeric. Finely mince ginger, garlic and onions. Put lamb, yoghurt mixture, ginger, garlic, half the onion and salt in a pan. Cook gently until lamb is nearly tender. Fry the remaining onion until golden and add the ground spices. Cook for five minutes and add to the lamb and continue cooking until tender. Lastly add chopped coriander and mint leaves, mix well and serve.
