Ingredients
  1. 500 grams mutton (cut into serving portions)
  2. 2 piece dry coconut
  3. 2 large onions
  4. 4 green chillies
  5. 1 thsp poppy-seeds
  6. 4 flakes garlic
  7. 1 piece ginger
  8. 1/2 cup ghee
  9. a few drops of milk
  10. 1 cup curd
  11. 1 tblsp each of coriander powder and garam masals
  12. 1 tsp each of ground cumin seeds and shahjeera
  13. salt and chilli powder to taste
  14. 1 handful coriander leases (chopped)
Method
  • Grind the coconut, onion, green chillies, poppy-seeds, garlic and ginger to a paste. Heat the ghee and fry the paste, adding a little milk now and then till the ghee floats to the top. Add the curd and mutton, and brown well. Add the rest of the ingredients (with the exception of coriander leaves) and cover with water. Cool( till the mutton is tender and the gravy a rich brown in colour. Serve garnished with fresh coriander leaves.
