Ingredients
  1. Beef fillet 1/2kg
    Papaya paste 1/2cup
    Crushed rice 2-3tbsp
    Red whole chilies 3-4
    Fish sauce 2-3tbsp
    Finely chopped green chilies 1/2cup
    Finely chopped coriander ½ bunch
    Finely chopped mint leaves ½bunch
    Chinese salt 1tsp
    Lemon juice 3-4tbsp
    Salad leaves 2-3
    Tomatoes 1-2
    Cucumber 1
    Oil 2-3tbsp
    Salt  as required
Method
  • In medium bowl, combine the beef fillet with salt to taste and 5tbsp soya sauce. Coat the beef fillet with the papaya paste and leave to marinate for 2-3 hours
    Fry the marinate beef until tender
    To give a Bbq flavor to the beef, lower a piece of burning coal into the pan, cover for a few minutes and remove
    Cut the beef fillet into thin strips and keep aside
    In a mixing bowl mix together 3-4 red whole chilies,2-3tbsp fish sauce and ½ bunch finely chopped coriander, /1 2bunch finely chopped mint leaves2-3tbsp crushed rice, ½ cup finely chopped spring onions , 1tsp Chinese salt and 3-4 tbsp lemon juice. Mix well
    Toss in  the julienne cut beef slices and mix well
    Transfer into  a salad platter, garnish with lettuce leaves, sliced tomatoes and cucumbers
