Ingredients
  1. 1 cup of Plain Yogurt
  2. 1 cup of Sour Cream
  3. 3 Cucumbers (seeded & chopped)
  4. 1 Tomato (seeded & chopped)
  5. 4 cloves of Garlic (Lehsan) (crushed)
  6. 1 tsp. of Ground Cumin (Pisa Zeera)
  7. ½ tsp. Paprika
  8. Salt (to taste)
  9. Black Pepper (Pisi Kaali Mirch) (grounded - to taste)
  10. A few strands of Fresh Cilantro/Coriander Leaves (Hara Dhania) (for garnish) (optional)
Method
  • In a salad bowl, whisk together the plain yogurt , sour cream, cumin, paprika and garlic.
  • Add cucumbers and tomatoes; toss and chill before serving.
  • For a thinner raita, add a little bit of water. And optionally garnish with cilantro/coriander leaves.
  • Note: "Raita is usually considered a Pakistani salad and sauce. This is great served with any spicy dish!
