Ingredients
  1. Tomatoes 1 kg boiled with 1 cup water and ½ tsp salt
  2. Chili powder 1 tsp
  3. Coriander powder 1 tsp
  4. Turmeric ¼ tsp
  5. Column II
  6. Oil ½ cup
  7. White cumin whole 1 tsp
  8. Fenugreek seeds ¼ tsp
  9. Mustard seeds ½ tsp
  10. Black pepper crushed 1 tsp
  11. Crushed garlic 1 tbsp
  12. Green chilies 6
  13. Curry leaves 20
  14. Ingredients for kofta
  15. Mince 250 gm
  16. Desiccated coconut 1 tsp
  17. Green chili 4
  18. Whole red chili 4
  19. Coriander leaves 2 tbsp
  20. Mint 10 leaves
  21. Onion 1 large
  22. Roasted gram 1 tbsp heaped
  23. Poppy seeds 1 tsp
Method
  • Mix all together in a chopper and chop prized till smooth. Make into koftas and keep aside.
  • Method for tomato Kat
  • Boiled tomatoes with 1 cup water, salt, turmeric, coriander, chili powder till tender, blend and sieve mixture, put in a pan heat oil in another pan fry each separately white cumin whole, fenugreek seeds, mustard seeds, black pepper crushed, crushed garlic, add to the tomato pulp, cook for 5 minutes add koftas and cook for 10 minutes. Serve with rice.
