Lobia Gosht Recipe by Zubaida Tariq

Chicken or mutton ½ kg
Beans 1 cup
Oil 1 cup
Chopped onion 2
Lemons                2
Chopped tomatoes 4
Chopped green chilies 4
Yogurt ½ cup
Roasted and crushed cumin 1 tsp
All spice powder 1 tsp
Turmeric 1 tsp
Crushed black pepper 1 tsp
Red chili powder 1 tbsp
Ginger paste 1 tbsp
Garlic paste 1 tbsp
Chopped green coriander as required
Salt to taste


Wash and boil beans in luke warm water with some milk. Add in 1 cup oil in the pan and add in 2 chopped onions till they are golden brown. Take out half of it and then add in ½ kg chicken or mutton, 1 tbsp ginger paste, 1 tbsp garlic paste,1 tbsp red chili, 1 tsp turmeric and some salt. When the water dries add in 1 cup warm water and cook till the meat tenders. Then add in ½ cup yogurt. When the gravy thickens add in chopped green coriander, 2 chopped green chilies, 2 lemon juice and 1 tsp crushed black pepper. in the end, add in crushed fried onion and serve.

I think in the chicken this lobia gosht becomes more tasty that is why I will try this recipe with chicken, my all the children also like to eat chicken. I also want to know that why the milk is necessary to boil?

I do not like Lobia as a vegetable so I do not like any dish which contain Lobia as an ingrediant.

Mostly peoples also mix pulses with the lobia keema but I like this lobia, although its season is only in the winter but I purchase the tin packed of this lobia only to make keema.

The season of lobia is just in the winter, it is such just good in the taste when you buy fresh lobia, it is also available in the tin.
