Ingredients
  1. 2 green chillis
  2. 1-inch fresh root ginger
  3. 2 teaspoons fresh coriander leaves
  4. 1 lb. potatoes, mashed
  5. 1 tablespoon desiccated coconut, soaked in
  6. 1 tablespoon warm milk
  7. 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  8. salt to taste
  9. 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  10. 2 oz. rice flour
  11. 2 oz. gram flour
  12. Water to mix
  13. Oil for deep frying
Method
  • Finely mince chilli, ginger and coriander leaves and add to potatoes with coconut, turmeric, salt and lemon juice. Mix well, shape into balls then flatten to make small patties. Mix rice and gram flours together with a little salt and add water to make a thin batter. Dip potato patties in batter and fry in oil till crisp and golden.
