PESHAWAR: The Sports and Tourism Journalists Forum (STJF) called on the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Olympic Association president and former sports minister Syed Aqil Shah on Thursday.
Speaking to the STJF delegation, Aqil Shah said that he had got sports and tourism experience from his family and forefathers. He said his father was also associated with sports while his family has been associated with the tourism and hotel industry for decades.
The Sports and Tourism Journalists Forum president, Kashifuddin, and general secretary Rehmatullah Khan lauded the efforts and service of Aqil Shah for sports and youth affairs. They said they the purpose of the forum is to ensure balanced reporting of sports and tourism.
Aqil Shah said that as president of the KP Olympic Association, he has been giving much time to sports and their promotion. He added that during his stint as provincial sports minister in the ANP-led government in the past, the distinctive and award winning players of the province used to get prizes at the Chief Minister’s House.

Aqil Shah said that he had visited most parts of the world but witnessed that Pakistan is home to the best tourist and scenic spots. “But there is a need to project these scenic spots through media to tell attract tourists to this part of the world,” he added.
The forum members thanked the Olympic association president for inviting journalists and hoped he would continue efforts for promotion of sports and tourism.
