In Pakistan, the total number of drug addicts as per a UN report is 7.6 million, where 78% are male while the rest 22% are female. The number of these addicts is increasing at the rate of 40,000 per year making Pakistan one of the most drug affected countries in the world. Whereas DRUG ADDICTION has become a worldwide problem, especially in teenagers. Billions of dollars are spent internationally preventing drug use, treating addicts, and fighting drug-related crime. Drug addiction is basically a brain disease that badly effect on the functioning of brain whereas It also influences a person’s psychological as well as physical health negatively and causing a major damage to the brain and lungs disease which can lead to other body problems. Moreover in simple words we can say that DRUGS ADDICTION is a condition where a person feels a strong necessity to take a drugs, as this necessity of intake of drugs can results in person’s lack of ability to switch/control the intake of drugs, due to which they fail to accomplish and fulfill day-to-day responsibilities in well-organized manner and affects their ability to resist the need to take drugs and also affects a person’s power to practice self-control. People usually become the drugs addicted because of the load of stress that may be caused by the following major reasons such as family issues, pressure at work, growing competition in schools and colleges, relationships problems, financial
issues, feelings of emptiness and so on. However, the hazards of drugs can be fought by providing the proper knowledge about the drugs as well as its affects to life to every person including children and this step could be possible by the education either it is deliver/given to you by schools/college or at home as education is very necessary to aware people about how drugs can spoil their life hence in order to cope with this problem education is the first battle. A second and most important tactic is that government should have to increase police manpower and should also take strict steps against the powers to stop drugs suppliers and dealers and this steps could only be accomplish by implementing the law. The third approach is that parents or families should keep their eye on their children’s activities in order to remain aware of what good/bad deeds of their children so they can do anything for their child’s evil action. While the problem of drugs may seem difficult to eliminate, there are concrete steps that can be taken to decline the grip of drugs on society.Whereas the hazard from drugs is impossible to ignore. Moreover it’s our moral duty to raise voice, so we can save our kids and coming generations from this drug cancer.
