Virus is the most abundant microscopic biological entity on the planet. One of
the viruses called CORONA VIRUS which has become quite a huge global concern
originated in Wuhan, China in late 2019 by outbreak of pneumonia of unknown
etiology.
On 30th January,2020 WHO declared 6th public health emergency of international
concern which highlighted numerous confirmed cases and the expeditious spread of
the virus cross China and many other countries.
On 11th February, 2020 WHO announced the official name of corona virus disease
is 2019-Novel Corona virus or CoVID-19. Later on the virus got renamed as Severe
Acute Respiratory Syndrome Corona virus 2 or SARS-CoV-2 by 'International
Committee on Taxonomy of Virus' because it is genetically related to the virus
that caused SARS outbreak in 2003 but the disease is quite different SARS-CoV-2
has high transmission efficiency. Its genome consists of positive sense single
stranded RNA virus belonging to the genus Batocoronavirus. SARS is closely
related to the structure of two bats, bat-SL-CoVZC45 and bat-SL-CoVZC21
respectively.
STRUCTURE:
Coronavirus belongs to the family of coronaviridae, and its scientific name is
Orthocoronavirinae or Coronavirinae. They are spherical with the diameter of
approximately 125nm. The word corona is derived from Latin and Greek word called
'kopwvn' meaning crown. It is due to the crown like structure on its surface
called spikes (finger like projection) which gives it the appearance of 'solar
corona' that estimate from cell membrane and help the virus to binds onto a host
cell. The protein covers the overall surface of virus. They also have envelope
and nucleocapsid encoded with the viral genome.
SYMPTOMS:
For confirmed CoVID-19 disease, the reported symptoms are as follows:
Fever
Sneezing
Cough
Sore throat
Runny nose
Tiredness
Diarrhea
Fatigue
Shortness or difficulty in breathing
And those people who have some medical complications like high blood pressure,
heart problem or diabetes are more likely to develop serious sickness.
The symptoms may appear in 2-14 days after exposure. This virus transmitted
through respiratory droplets from person to person, or any objects and surfaces
around the person by touching it. In addition, those who develop the
above-mentioned symptoms must contact their doctors as soon as possible. The
corona-virus is affecting almost all over the world, more than 200 countries and
territories. There are approx 1,432,670 confirmed cases, in which 82,124 death
reported and 302,32 are recovered reported. This pandemic is mostly affecting
declining age people (above 50) and also adolescent because of the suppress
immunity. Unfortunately, there is no medicine or vaccine for the cure of
CoVID-19. The only way to overcome this disease is to follow guidelines which
has been given by the WHO.
ECONOMIC IMPACT:
The corona virus that causes every part of the world to be devastating is a
deadly epidemic that has made the world worse. The outbreak began in China,
affecting more than 500,000 people and also affecting the global economy, which
halted many businesses around the world, but also left counting costs for
businesses around the world.
Current Economy Status: China, the largest producer, exporter of sales and
investor, it’s economy has been declined in the past few months. Not just in
China, it has happened in many other countries. Their economy has have been
declined due to current pandemic worse situation. There are lock down situation
in almost every country to prevent this pandemic spread. Industrial production
and business has fallen. All investors, businessman over the world suffering
from great lost. But the major problem is the lack of medical equipment’s, such
as mask, gloves, sanitizers, hospital beds, ICU, oxygen therapy, ventilators and
ECMO machines that are being managed by the government, health departments and
the military. But the effects of outbreaks on demand are not always negative, on
the one hand some businesses are downsizing while on the other hand some other
businesses are developing. Supermarkets and online delivery services are
increasing consumer demand as people’s fear and uncertainty motivate them to
store goods.
The world top experts think, that it can get little signs into the future from
places that are recently getting infected. And if we look around the world in
North America and Europe, the Middle East, we can see that we’re really at the
period of exponential growth.
And now no one can predict that it will be disappeared soon.
