Environmental Changes and Its Effects
(Zain Saeed Siddiqui, karachi)
Humanity depends upon the
environment of earth .For the development and betterment of human society
pollution free environment is necessary .Environmental changes plays a vital
role in security of human beings, social relations and in completion of human
needs. Today the situation is that, that at global and regional levels many
evidences are available which tells us that global warming is actually the cause
of increase in temperature. The process of melting of glaciers, average rise in
the sea level, and shortage of water decline in the fertility of land, shortage
of food is due to environmental changes. Unusual waves of summer and winter,
tornadoes, floods are increasing and in future these effects will gradually
increase .The situation is so devastating that according to research 2 million
people dies due to internal and external pollution. Ozone layer which protects
the earth from ultra violet rays is being damaged badly and availability of pure
drinking water is gradually decreasing. Water pollution is the greatest cause of
death in world today; if the shortage of pure drinking water continues at this
rate then in 2025 1.8 billion people would be living in those areas or countries
where water will almost disappear whereas two-third of the population would be
facing shortage of water. Therefore we must take some steps to finish pollution
and at least take a step forward in reducing these effects which will be better
for people of our country.
