The forgotten people of فلسطین

Rights Under International Law

Palestine is a west asian country that according to written information came into existence in 1988. However, the displacement of Palestinians from their land started after the arrival of Jews, in 1948, when Jews formed the state of Israel. The 1967 war between Arabs and Israel resulted in a significant loss for the Arab side. Despite efforts to establish peace through the Oslo Accord from 1993 to 1995, the agreement ultimately failed to address key issues, leaving Palestinians under strict restrictions.

From 1948 to 2025, Palestinians have endured immense suffering, including genocide, the killing of innocents, and poverty, which has only intensified over time. The situation has worsened since October 2023, with millions of children killed in Israeli airstrikes and attacks, millions more displaced, and countless homes and lands lost. The poverty and fear that grip the region have taken a devastating toll on the health and well-being of Palestinians.

The international community's response has been inadequate, with Arab and Muslim countries providing aid but failing to offer meaningful support to protect Palestinians from Israeli violence. The recent attack on aid trucks by Israel and Egypt's decision to seal its border with Gaza have further exacerbated the crisis. It is disheartening to see that even Arab countries are not willing to take a strong stance to help their Muslim brothers and sisters in Gaza.

The videos of Palestinians crying out to ﷲ, feeling abandoned by the world, are a stark reminder of the desperation and despair that grips the region. The question remains: how many more lives will be lost before the world recognizes this as genocide and ethnic cleansing? Israel's actions are driven not only by religious ideology but also by strategic and geographical interests. As a proxy of America in the region, Israel's actions have far-reaching consequences.

The inaction of regional and international organizations, including the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), is striking. Netanyahu's war crimes go unpunished, and he seems to operate with impunity. As a Pakistani, I feel a deep sense of responsibility to act, and I urge others to do the same. We must boycott Israeli and American products, spread awareness on social media, and continue to speak out in support of Palestine.

Palestine is a land sacred to our prophets, and Masjid al-Aqsa is our first qibla. It is our collective responsibility to protect it. We must not leave the burden of protecting Palestine solely on the shoulders of Palestinians. If you can write, write for Palestine. If you can speak, speak out in favor of Palestine. If you can act, take action to support the Palestinians. We risk being ashamed before ﷲ and losing the trust of our Muslim brothers and sisters if we fail to act.

May ﷲ be with those in need, may He help the Palestinians, and may He protect them. Ameen.
