Karachi: Late-Night Cracker Attack Near Rangers Checkpost

Karachi – A Cracker attack was reported late last night near a Rangers checkpost in the Kala Board railway crossing area of Malir, Karachi. According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Korangi Tariq Nawaz, the explosive device was thrown by unidentified individuals. Fortunately, no casualties or property damage occurred during the incident.

Following the attack, police and Rangers personnel swiftly reached the site, secured the area, and launched a search operation. A Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) was also called in to inspect the scene and collect forensic evidence. Preliminary investigations suggest that the device used was a low-intensity cracker bomb.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) East Usman Ghani confirmed that the incident is under full investigation. He stated that the attack appears to be an attempt to spread panic and disrupt public peace, adding that law enforcement agencies are actively pursuing those responsible.

SSP Tariq Nawaz emphasized that multiple aspects of the incident are being thoroughly examined and urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to authorities without delay.

This cracker attack comes amid a recent increase in low-intensity assaults targeting law enforcement across Karachi. In response, security has been heightened, with intensified patrols and monitoring in sensitive areas of the city.
