IIUI President Meets Delegation of Islamic Scholars; Ten Differently Abled Students Receive Educational Assistance

ISLAMABAD: A delegation of distinguished Islamic scholars and education professionals engaged in Islamic learning and artificial intelligence (AI) called on Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saad Alahmed, President of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), in a cordial meeting focused on educational development, technological innovation, and inclusive learning. On the occasion, ten differently abled IIUI students received financial assistance cheques to cover their educational expenses.
The delegation comprised Dr. Shaikh Wali Khan Al-Muzaffar, an Islamic scholar, author, and Arabic language specialist; Shaykh Zia ul Islam, a Quranic content verification scholar; Syed Imam Alam Khan, an Imam and Quranic educator; and Hafiz Samiullah Durrani, who is actively engaged in integrating AI with education.
Welcoming the delegation, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saad Alahmed particularly appreciated Dr. Shaikh Wali Khan Al-Muzaffar for his outstanding contributions to Quranic sciences, Hadith, Islamic jurisprudence, and Arabic scholarship, as well as his engagement with contemporary intellectual issues. He also acknowledged the delegation's contributions to Islamic education through Quranic content verification, audio learning resources, and the application of emerging technologies.
During the meeting, Hafiz Samiullah Durrani, representing Karsaaz EBS, presented NorAI, a digital Quranic and Islamic learning platform incorporating AI-assisted learning tools. The presentation highlighted its potential to facilitate Quranic and Islamic education while responding to the evolving needs of students in an increasingly digital world. The President appreciated the initiative and observed that technological innovation, guided by sound scholarly and ethical principles, could broaden access to authentic Islamic knowledge and create meaningful opportunities for educational advancement.
A significant highlight of the occasion was the presentation of financial assistance cheques to ten differently abled IIUI students. The initiative was facilitated by the University's Office of University Advancement & Financial Aid (UAFA), with the efforts of Dr. Inaam ul Haq, Director Planning & Development and Advisor University Advancement, being particularly noteworthy. This marked the first such initiative undertaken under his supervision, reflecting the University's commitment to strengthening student financial support through coordinated institutional efforts.
The President appreciated the dedicated efforts of Ms. Humaira Islam, Acting Director UAFA, Mr. Arsalan Khurshid, and Ms. Lubna Amjad in facilitating the initiative. Dr. Taimia Sabiha, Incharge Alumni Office, and Dr. Asma Mansoor, Director, Office of Linkages, were also present at the cheque distribution ceremony.
Dr. Inaam ul Haq expressed his appreciation for the President's continued encouragement and support, acknowledging his commitment to student welfare and inclusive education. He assured the President that further meaningful initiatives would be undertaken to strengthen financial assistance mechanisms and expand educational opportunities for deserving students.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saad Alahmed expressed his deep affection and particular concern for differently abled students, observing that they often possess exceptional strengths and capabilities that enable them not only to navigate physical challenges but also to approach life's difficulties with remarkable resilience, determination, and insight. He emphasized that their abilities should be recognized, nurtured, and celebrated rather than defined by physical limitations.
Drawing upon Islamic teachings, the President described their perseverance and achievements as a reflection of Allah Almighty's mercy, wisdom, and sustaining grace. He noted that Islam accords dignity to every individual and promises abundant rewards to those who face life's trials with sabr (patience), steadfastness, and trust in Allah Almighty. He added that their determination serves as an inspiration to the university community and reinforces the responsibility of educational institutions to provide equitable opportunities for all.
Appreciating the generosity and social responsibility reflected in the initiative, the President reiterated IIUI's commitment to fostering an inclusive academic environment where every student is supported in realizing their intellectual and professional potential.
The meeting concluded on a warm note, reflecting a shared commitment to advancing Islamic scholarship, technological innovation, and educational philanthropy.
