Molvi Abdul Haq or popularly
regarded as “Baba –e- Urdu” is a renowned linguist and scholar Urdu language has
ever seen. He was the first linguist to Dakni literature and many of its
manuscripts are rare from the corpus of Dakni literature. He is undoubtedly the
pioneer of research in Dakni literature, as before him no other poet or writer
was able to make a mark in this genre. His hard work paid off and Dakni
literature was able to get familiarity among masses.

Service to Urdu Language
Molvi Abdul Haq was a versatile personality. He was acknowledged as a critic,
linguist, lexicographer, editor, compiler, translator, etymologist, biographer
and grammarian. He devoted his entire life to make for the development and
improvement Urdu language. He urged to make it the national language of Pakistan
and it should be used officially to communicate all over Pakistan. Owing to the
hard work of Molvi Abdul Haq, Urdu language is now used in educational
institutions of the country including, Arts, Medical Sciences, Computer,
Environment Studies, Accounting, Mathematics, Economics, Business and others.
Today, Urdu is the language of communication in various government offices.

Molvi Abdul Haq has some amazing literature books and magazines of Urdu language
under his belt. He is acknowledged for translating English to Urdu dictionary.
Other renowned publications are: Afkar –e- Hali (1976), Anjuman Taraqqi Urdu Ka
Alamia (2002), Chand Ham Asr (1991), Chand Tanqeedat e Abdul Haq (1939),
Hamari Zaban (1941). He edited many rare manuscripts with scholarly forwards
such as Meraajul Ashqeen (1924), Zikr-e-Mir (1928), Bagh-o-Bahar, (1931), Sab
Ras (1932), Nikat-Shoara (1935), Nusrati (1938), Qutub Mushtari, (1939) and many
more. Molvi Abdul Haq is acknowledged in high esteem amongst the intellectuals,
educationalists and scholars in Pakistan. Molvi Abdul Haq is praised for his
dedicated work in promoting Urdu language and Muslim heritage, as a medium of
