BILOUR OR BLOWER?!
(Hafiz Muhammad Noman, Karachi)
It certainly is unbelievable
how fast the federal minister for Pakistan Railway blew the railway system in
his supervision. He spread corruption in the railway as fast as he felt to be
the engine of Karakoram Express. Also it is his great tolerance power that he
still exists in his ministry. Perhaps he has stuck with his seat and surely he
doesn’t want to retreat as he is not only embezzling in the name of funds but
also showering money upon his accomplices. Definitely he is too brave to bear
criticism whereas others could die with embarrassment if they were castigated in
the way he is!
Every body knows that Pakistan Railway not only facilitates public to travel to
various areas but also it is important enough for Pakistan Army. It is indeed a
big and crucial source to transport or transfer defensive weapons of Pak-Army
from one place to another one whereas various defence experts consider that the
poor conditioning or dilapidated conditioning of Pakistan Railway is a big loss.
It is elusive that why is the railway system intentionally being derailed by the
corrupt leaders for their own interests? Previously Pakistan Steel Mills and
Pakistan International Airline (PIA) were already victimized of corruption and
embezzling and now it is Pakistan Railway’s turn! A question arises here why the
government institutions are seriously being hit by the leaders?
It is amusing that Ghulam Ahmad Bilour instead of reforming himself or
concentrating on his previous three years is demanding further funds of billions
of rupees so that he could restore or bring the railway again on track. Also it
is elusive that the railway system in Pakistan was bearing the loss of 23
billion rupees in 2007 but the loss now has reached up to 40 billions rupees by
the minister’s efforts, why?! Despite a big corruption, Mr. Bilour is not in the
mood of resignation whereas he openly threatens if his ministry was changed, his
party would consider its coalition with the sitting government. What a
hooliganism it is! Great!
Recently a very controversial plan has been exposed by ex-minister for Pakistan
Railway Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed that Mr. Bilour is going to purchase 150 railway
engines from USA. The main point to seriously consider is that one engine of the
USA costs 33 crore rupees whereas China-made engine costs 16 crore rupees. When
Chinese engines are available, why does Haji Sahib want US-made engines that are
more expensive?
Ghulam Ahmad Bilour has already favoured or showed his great kindness to the
owners of coaches and buses, damaging the railway system and at least he should
now reform himself or resign from his ministry if he cannot look after the
system properly! Also the government should seriously take immediate and
responsible action to secure the railway that is going towards decline!
