The problem of "missing
persons" was one of the major crisis which had generated uproar and tumult among
the masses, during the Musharraf reign. Masood Janjoa and Dr.Afia Siddiqui were
those names who were at the top of the list. Afia's case holds some different
situation as she had been sentenced to 86 years by American court for a blame
which was not proved even in court. It was another tragedy that she was
kidnapped by the agencies ,with her three innocent children and then she was
brought to Bagram ,where she was tortured so brutally under custody of Us. After
many years, the famous journalist 'Ivon Redly' reported her miserable plight.
When her case appeared on media, Dr.Afia was transferred illegally to America,
although she was citizen of Pakistan. Dr.Fouzia, her sister had called it an
international conspiracy. People of Pakistan raised their voice for the daughter
of the nation before Musharraf Govt but he announced that he had sold many
citizens to Us who were called as terrorists (without any proof).
Dr.Afia's case is whereas, an example of exposed hollowness of Superpower's
claims for human rights. It is a tragedy of freindship between Us and its
Allies. It is an eye-opener for the whole nation and to raise voice before the
recent Rulers ,for bringing change in foreign policy. A policy should be formed
according to the constitution, the integrity and sovereignty of Pakistan. We
pray that the coming government release all missing persons and bring the
daughter of nation back to Pakistan as her mother is seriously ill in pain of
Afia !
