I want to draw the attentions of the CM government of NWFP towards the use of
unfair means in the system of examination in the province in general and here in
Karak in special. As the annual examination of metric class are commencing from
17th of March, it is very likely that once again money and personal relations
will be used to provide conducive environment for the youngs to solve their
papers from books and copying materials easily available in the market.
We were happy that with the spread of education-boards in the province, it would
help greatly in the spread of education and would help in providing quality
education in the province. But alas that these boards have been working as money
making factories and education is being sold to the citizens of the province and
has badly affected the education system in the province.
Take the example of the BISE, Kohat. The situation of the internal corruption of
the board can easily be gauge from the conduct of exams in the areas in its
jurisdiction.
It is said that for sanctioning an exam center to a school, especially in the
private sector, Rs. 50,000 is taken from that school. And once an exam center is
sanctioned to a school, the exam staff is also provided to the school according
to the choice of the school owners. And top position of the school in the exam
results is sure.
It is also said that some of the richest school and colleges enjoy special
marking status in the board simply by providing lavish monetary help to the
board administration.
Because of all these practices, Karak has become a hub of education in the
province. Students from all over the province are coming to the school and
colleges of Karak for getting high marks in the exams.
And this is the reason that education has become a more beneficial business in
the district. Every sun and dry is opening private school to get money easily at
the cost of quality education. And BISE, Kohat is helping them open heartedly.
Once again the season of money making is coming on the 17th of March. And there
is a big rush of teachers in Kohat board for getting an exam duty. It is sure
that at the end of exam, some teachers will come to the school on motorbike
while some will come in cars. During the exam days rich and lavish dishes are
the rights of the staffers. What will become of this nation!
