I Have a Dream

(Muhammad Usman Habib, Sadiqabad)

As Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan writes,
“The dreams are not that which we have seen during sleeping. Dreams are those which do not allow us to sleep.”

This is a fact. Dreams can only come true by the determination as well as implementation. There is always a hope that a day will come when our dreams will come true. This is a hope, which makes a man lead his whole life. Those are very lucky ones who see their dreams come true in their life. I also have a dream. Today, I am eighteen year old and I wish I may see my dream to be fulfilled in my life. For this, I am trying, trying as I can.

My dream is quite the same as of King Martin Luther’s’ (I Have a Dream) but the difference is that he wanted Americans to sit on the table of brotherhood without any distinction of black and white but I want the same from the whole world. I believe the day is not so far when the world will become just like a family. The day is not so far when Indians and Pakistanis will become the friendliest nations of the world and they will open their borders for trade not for the troops. Pakistan declaration of India “The Most Favorite Nation” is one of the facts that I am talking about. The day is not so far when Americans and Russians will become friends again by heart and soul. The day is not so far when Israel accepts Palestine as a free state. The day is not so far when Kashmir will be independent. The day is not so far when America calls back his army from Afghanistan and Iraq. The day is not so far when Taliban will shake hands with the whole world as a peaceful people. The day is not so far when every brutal king will be rolled down by his nation and then all the humans will be treated equally. Revolutions in Arab countries creating such environment exactly that I am talking about. The day is not so far when UNO will do its work independently and the day is not so far when weapon factories will be replaced by food factories.

This is the future which not only me but all the common men want to see and all the intellectuals and scholars want to create. This looks like an only dream but today I assure you through this forum that I believe, it is possible if world organizations for human development with the help of the governments of all the countries take following steps immediately which are mentioned in the next paragraphs.

First and foremost step is to reduce poverty to as minimum as possible. This can be done by helping people and through creating opportunities for all. Yes, I am talking about the financial help of people, so that they become self independent. This is exactly that “Diya” and “Akhuwat” (Organizations) are doing in Pakistan. According to me, today, the main reason behind all kind of violence in the world is poverty. Every human in the world is struggling to eliminate his hunger. Today we are divided into different classes, elite class, middle as well as poor. This is the hunger, because of which the poor class hates all the above classes, because poor class has not enough resources as to fulfill their daily appetite but when this class sees the upper classes enjoying, really hurt. This urges them to violate and sorry to say, they have no option and most of them, do it. They are doing it and consider it, their right. I am talking about street crimes and this kind of violation. If we are able to provide resources to all of them then it will be our great success. If we do so then people will love each other then brotherhood and harmony will arise. My heart says it will be the first step to remove every kind of violence in the world.

There is a need to bring peace and the first step for this is mentioned above. As said, “Lie is the root of all the evils.” Similarly, “Poverty is the root of all kinds of violence.”

According to UNICEF, 22,000 children die each day due to poverty. Almost half the world (over three billion people) lives on less than $2.50 a day. Extreme poverty around the globe is defined by the World Bank and defined as those living on $1.25 or less a day. There are 1.4 billion people or about 21% of the world's population living at this level or below across the world. These are the some facts and figures about the current poverty in the world.

Furthermore, we must bring justice and promote education for everyone. We must give equal rights to every human of society. We must spread the message of love everywhere. We can only erect peace by the implementation of these above mentioned steps and we can implement the above mentioned steps by the solving the main problem which is poverty.
