Hindus nation has a
peculiar, complex mentality. Intolerance and bias are the hallmark of Hindu
culture. Today’s India is an artificial paradigm of democracy, so called
secularism and non violence. Hindus have never been able to reconcile with the
fact that sub continent of Indo-Pak belongs to a multiple spectrum of races and
religions and is not a domain of Hindus only. They are obsessed with mindset of
regional hegemony that compel them towards non acceptance of partitions and so
the very existence of Pakistan. Now this attitude of repudiation has its annals
deep rooted in history. There is a plethora of territorial and political
disputes which have held back the people of South Asia from living and
interacting in a normal and friendly way. Kashmir tops them all. But then there
are Sir Creek, Siachen, water, LoC and Working Boundary violations, sponsoring
terrorism and interference in internal affairs majorly unresolved due to
hostility of Indian side. But at the root of all this is the great historical
and psychological suspicion of Indian leadership who failed to offload this
misgiving towards Pakistan over the course of time. And the result is now
obvious; countless lost opportunities during the last seven decades and
perpetual economic miseries for about 1.5 billion inhabitants living in both the
countries. The ceasefire agreement reached between India and Pakistan in
November 2003 is now unrecognizable, with firing growing steadily since late
2012 till date.
In a latest development, Indian Army Chief General Dalbir Singh said on last
Tuesday that India was prepared to face off military action on its borders.
Indian newspaper, The Hindu, quoted him as referring to the ceasefire
‘violations’ along the borders in Jammu and Kashmir, which have put relations
between India and Pakistan under strain. Referring innocently to the frequent
ceasefire violations along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir and Working Boundary,
the Army Chief said New Delhi is aware of the need to remain prepared. Dalbir
Singh asserted a very high level of operational readiness at all times has
become part of India’s strategy as there is realization that the swift
nearsighted nature of future wars is likely to offer limited warning time.
Dalbir Singh comments come in backdrop of so called ongoing ceasefire
violations, which have put India on the alert. Without quoting names, Dalbir
Singh accused Pakistan of employing “new methods to create unrest in Jammu and
Kashmir” and said the recent instances of terrorist violence are “clear pointers
to extend this arc of violence to other areas”.
Dalbir Singh’s comments come close on the heels of the Pakistan Defence Minister
Khawaja Muhammad Asif’s statement blaming India for trying to “impose war on
Pakistan”. The Pakistan Minister on Sunday has also cautioned India that it will
suffer “heavy losses” if it tries to “inflict” a war.
India has embroiled the regional peace over ceasefire violations from its side
and tensions between two sides escalated after the Gurdaspur and Udhampur terror
attacks, which as usual New Delhi asserts were carried out by Pakistani
nationals. However Indian authorities failed to produce clear proofs against the
allegations. While Islamabad claims Indian forces have committed 37 and 24
unprovoked ceasefire violations on the LoC and the Working Boundary in July and
August respectively. The violation of the ceasefire agreement has also led to
loss of civilian casualties as well as to the properties of local inhabitants.
These rising tensions make crisis management more difficult and increase the
risk of a conflict with nuclear dimensions.
Surprisingly, the mien of occurrences reminds one the war of 1965 when India in
a same demeanor violated all the international laws and imposed a brute war
against Pakistan. This time its mood seems retrospective however it also appears
to be in oblivion how it was retaliated by audacious Pakistani forces. Earlier a
high-level huddle of the top military commanders at the General Headquarters in
Rawalpindi also warned India not to resort to any ‘misadventure’ against
Pakistan. The stern warning from the top brass came hours after Minister of
State for Information and Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Rathore warned that Indian
strikes in Myanmar were a message to all countries, including Pakistan and
groups harboring ‘terror intent’ that India would strike at the ‘place and at a
time’ of its choosing. Taking strong exception to a series of threats from
India, formation commanders’ conference presided over by Army Chief General
Raheel Sharif made it clear that Pakistan was ready to shoot down Indian
‘designs’ and defend the territorial integrity.
Amidst this unabated ceasefire violations by Indian troops and war rhetoric in
New Delhi reaching a crescendo, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif also warned India
that “our patience should not be construed as our weakness”. He cautioned that
Indian belligerence was a threat to regional and international peace.
Unprovoked firing by Indian troops on civilian population along the Line of
Control and Working Boundary claimed the lives of innocent people. We have not
forgotten our innocent people facing Indian barbarianism as they live in our
hearts,” the premier said while addressing a gathering in Azad Jammu and
Kashmir. “Desire for peace is our strength – and this is why Pakistan has
continuously been informing the United Nations about ceasefire violations by
Indian forces,” he maintained. This sent a strong message to the other side of
border that civil and military leadership backed by the masses and classes of
Pakistan are on the same page against any extrinsic intimidation come what may.
India must realize the fact that Pakistan is fully capable of defending itself
by all means either when it comes to conventional or non conventional warfare.
Analysts say India wants to take over and control Pakistan just like Nepal and
Bhutan. It desires to make Pakistan acknowledge her stipulations and dictation
on trade to Afghan trade route; in order to pressurize Pakistan to accept Hindu
slavery India is utilizing propaganda on the international level and terrorists
in Waziristan, Baluchistan and Karachi as double edged sword. But our enemy is
perhaps unaware of the fact that all his tactfulness has gone in vain as the
comprehensive military operation Zarb e Azb is under way that has set innovative
hallmarks of success in north of country flushing the Indian condescended
terrorists out of the country. The morale of the forces is very high and they
are amply charged and full of national enthusiasm. This time an element of
surprise may stun the aggressors as the forces have been through the worst of
what we say a conventional warfare. And being well aware of their potentialities
and what can they do. They are adjudicated to deracinate the menace of terror
from the country while observing the fifty years of undaunted defence when they
intercepted a mammoth enemy out of its borders in September 1965.
