Give Thanks and Get More…

(Mohammad Rafique, Dera Nawab Sahib)

Almighty Allah Says in the holy Qur’an,” Whosoever giveth thanks he only giveth thanks for (for the good) his own soul: and whosoever is ungrateful only to his own (is ungrateful only to his own soul’s hurt). For lo! My Lord is absolute in independence, Bountiful” (An-Namal: 40). These verses reveal that it is necessary to every faithful Muslim believer to be thankful to God due to His endless blessings for him. In fact, every man has such types of unique blessings of God that others have not. For example, if someone has wealth, but he has not good health in some cases, his digestive system is damaged he cannot digest food properly, or he is suffering from depression, and has not a sound sleep etc. While on the other hands, some people have good digestive system and health, although they have not sufficient wealth, they eat, drink well and have a sound sleep without using sleeping pills and make merry and have not any notable problem in their lives. Someone has a good partner for life, when he returns home from office; she receives him with a beautiful smile, presents hot tea or cold drinks, sits near to him and talks in sweet manner. So, all his tiredness goes in the air and he becomes fresh from anew. While someone returns home from his office, his wife receives him by pulling down her face and neglects her and does not care for him at all. There may be something between them. But this behavior creates problems and confusion for him.

Some people have no marriage partners in their lives because matches are made in heaven. If the match had not been made there, no one can find his marriage partner here in this world.

After marriage, there is an issue of children; some married couple have continuously children, it means a new baby after the end of every new year, while some couples have no children at all, they try their best by using medicines and making supplication to Allah Almighty, but failed because there may be some physical infection in any one of the spouses or there will be no writing about the children in their book of fate. Therefore, good and obedient to parent children are the great blessing from God.
Likewise, everyone has some unique blessings from Allah the most High that other ones have not. The holy Qur’an reveals,” And if ye would count the favors of Allah ye cannot reckon it. Lo! Allah is indeed forgiving, Merciful” (An-Nahal: 18).So, it is necessary to give thanks to Allah Almighty for these.

According to the teachings of Islam, every man should look towards the lower status people then him, for example in health, wealth or in other worldly stuffs, so that he may be grateful to Allah Almighty. And if he looks to upper grade people, then it will create regret and grief for him. In fact, Riches and poverty, health or illness is from Allah Subhanhu wa Ta’al and a faithful believer has only two ways: either he is thankful or be patient.

The holy Qur’an reveals,” And when your Lord proclaimed: if ye give thanks, I will give you more; but if ye are thankless, lo! My punishment is dire” (Ibrahim: 7).

These verses reveal that a faithful believer must be thankful to God so that he may get more blessings and favors from Him as it is proved from the holy Qur’an. The holy Prophet (PBUH) said that whosoever did not give thanks to the people, as he did not give thanks to God. (Al-Mishkwat)
So it is necessary to give thanks to the people for their favors and goodwill.
