Fairly Unfair
(Qurat-ul-ain Akram Cheema, Islamabad)
Social exclusion or social
marginalization is a disadvantage of society . It is a system or process in
which individuals or entire communities of people are systematically blocked
from various rights. It is a delimma of our society that few are born
she-males……a painful reality for parents and their self.
We the blessed ones don’t give them options or offers to study in colleges and
universities along with us. We the blessed ones don’t give them a chance to earn
just because they do not belong to any gender ?
Just because of the decision of The Lord we are born healthy with a decent
acceptable gender are born inbetween. What if we had been at their place ? If we
allow the co-education where there are more chances of harm and loss , why
cannot we allow the she males to study as well . We should welcome them the
opportunities to learn the skills , so they don’t get burned on others.
Atleast we shouldn’t close the doors on them ,we ourselves kick them and then
find delimma and burdens.
Are they born to be just beggars ? Is gender required for reading books and
taking lectures ?
There was a time when engineering was considered only for boys and fashion
designing and doctoring for girls , but that time has gone where we believed
that physics and maths are subject for the boys and English and urdu for girls .
Are we again backward in thoughts ? Is this the developed nation ? Does office
work require a gender ? Are we not ready to fight for the gender discrimination
?
We should give them equal rights and opportunities and we should join our steps
to eliminate such differences . They should be given fully protection mentally
and physically like other normal people !
“ To those who are gay , lesbian , bisexual , or transgender- let me say- you
are not alone. You are a struggle , for the end to violence and discrimination ,
is shared struggle. Today, I stand with you . And I call upon all the countries
and people , to stand with you too ”
