Are We Done With Cartoons?

(Syed Ayaz uddin Shah, Karachi)

Not just an Avengers' figure or Justice League's figure, but every single movie of any cartoon character is being appreciated by us !

Have you ever faced the sentence like “Oh... you’re grown-up now, stop watching Cartoons.” Coming straight from your fellows? If yes, then you must read this blog. It’ll reveal somewhat a very minute psychological phenomenon.

You see, we have stopped ourselves to watch cartoons and animated movies as they appear to be Men-made & Childish particularly but generally, the movies of any Cartoon Character from the past are beating up the box office continuously. Have you ever imagined why these non realistic fiction movies are such big hits?

20 (Less or More) years earlier, we all used to see these cartoons with such a keen interest like none other (basically we only got permission for cartoons easily; other materials were prohibited to us). Therefore, the impact of watching cartoons in early childhood days has taken some place in our minds because as we all know education and memories children gathered in their childhood remains till end, apparently.

The craziness of cartoon hadn’t stopped on just watching them, it takes children to ask (or I would rather say demand) their parents to buy stuff toys, action figures of those cartoon characters, CD’s and Comic books of their favourite cartoons.

As it is mentioned before, childhood memories remains till end so, now as we have grown-up and can easily take care of our expenses (Yes we can), therefore whenever these movies comes to hit the Box-office, it trigger our early memories & we are paying off easily to these movies as we are bounded with these characters from our Childhood.

Though, new filming technologies and graphic effects have made it all seem quite realistic in particular (changing from 2D to 3D animation & then to Films) but by the passage of time, we hit by reality that these things don’t exist in real life. Still, we appreciate the efforts of those who are giving their best to recall those CARTOONS.
