We need a justice in compensation…!
(Manzoor Hussain Rajper, Karachi.)
This letter is written to draw
the attention of Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) in relation to the protests
made by the employees of Sindh Gov’t Courts. I have seen saying some of my
relatives since 2 years and more that their salaries will be increased to equal
with Punjab in coming hearing and so on. How odd will be it to hear that
Employees of Courts who are sub-ordinates of CJP are making protests to draw
attention of CJP since more than 2 years period! I have read and seen in
newspapers and on various TV channels that CJP takes the suo moto actions on the
different issues but, does the CJP has taken the action for this issue? If he
has taken any what is the output of it?
We cannot neglect the days when for the release of this free and fair judiciary
many sacrifices were made by these poor employees along with Lawyers. Who was on
the roads first for the release of judiciary? Not only this, but also you will
be remembering that they made the weekly boycotts on specific day for whole day
in tough situations too. How can the CJP forget this sacrifice?
The people who participated in boycotts are lower middle and middle class they
are passing their time on daily earning, wasn’t that day important for their
routine life? Who gave them the compensation of that? We saw that PM had
increased the salaries of Higher Level Judiciary up to the good sum. We
appreciate this act because if they are highly paid there is a fair chance that
there will be lesser corruption. If the lower staff are paid well they will also
work fairly.
Some times, I get puzzled to see the inequalities in the country. I think there
are heights of inequalities. Simple example, imagine please that how does it
look to you when people from two different provinces in same country work same,
for the same time but are paid differently? Do you get this phenomenon in any
way? There are lot of things and examples to show but I think CJP is watching
everything, because every movement of Gov’t is to be caught. We appeal to the
CJP that please compensate us for our efforts made for this judiciary and finish
all the inequalities at least in this free and fair judiciary.
