There was a time when famous
Pakistani dramas make the people to sit at homes without moving an inch from
their place and watch them. The roads used to be empty only to watch those
dramas without any distraction. And this was made possible by the genuine
creativity of our famous Pakistani writers, directors, actors and creatives.
Writers like Anwar Maqsood, Ashfaq Ahmed, Hasina Moin, Shoaib Mansoor, Fatima
Surayya Bajiyya, Mehreen Jabbar and many more have made histories by their
flawless writing. Those dramas were highly anticipated and famous. People used
to get excited by the names of Dhoop Kinaray, Samander, Andhera Ujala, Jangloos,
Ghareeb-e-sheher, Chand Girhan, Pas-e-aaiena, Sunharay din, Waris, An kahi,
Shezori, Kiran kahani, Uncle Urfi, Alpha Bravo Charlie, Wajud-e-Laraib, Alif
Noon etc.
But these days the present dramas don’t have this type of hype and everlasting
impression. The stories are weak, the direction is average kind of, the actors
are repetitive, have become glamorized to full extent and last but not the least
they have lost the cultural and social values and showing a wrong world to the
youngsters specially. The reason behind this is unidentified by the public. May
be they are influenced by the Indian media that they have put so much glamour in
it, may be the system has turned so much commercialized and everyone wants to
make “QUICK BUCK”, or may be there is some other mean reason.
Pakistani people are already in a baffled state. They are disappointed, dejected
for some reason. In this perplexed state of mind they can extract any bad aspect
from their surroundings. So our media should realize this and should try to
innovate such kind of programs which boost good thoughts and concepts in the
minds, educate people and don’t hurt any civic and social sense.
