Nowadays cricket has become a
popular sport in Pakistan. As we know that our national sports is hockey but
people have keen interest in cricket. Pakistan cricket team is improving and
developing day by day as the new talent is coming. Similarly a new big
talent an all rounder Shadab Khan from “Mianwali” with his performance in
Pakistan super league allows the selectors to give him a chance in Pakistan
cricket team. The young lad from Mianwali starts his domestic career on 20
April 2016 in Pakistan cup. The all rounder with the batting averages of 47
in First class cricket, 26.85 in List A and bowling averages of 26.37 in
First class cricket, 31.23 in List A gave him the chance to present his
talent in PSl, as he was selected as an all rounder player in “Islamabad
United”.
The 18 years old guy with his leg break bowling takes 17 wickets in his 8
matches in PSl.
The young all rounder joins Pakistan cricket team on 26 march 2017 in T20
match against West Indies after showing his talent in Pakistan super league.
The leg break bowler with his talent performs on highest peak with his
bowling figures leaving a great impact on everyone’s mind. The debutant on
his first match dismisses 3 batsmen and giving just 7 runs. An 18 year old
guy achieves the “Man of the match” award in his first match. As everyone is
looking towards this guy another great performance earn him another “Man of
the match “ award in second T20 of the same series and making the remarkable
history of a debutant achieving “Man of the match” award in his first two
matches.
With his remarkable performance in t20 matches the selectors are forced to
give him a chance in ODI and Test series against West Indies. After bowling
he is also a batsman rather he does not yet get a chance of batting till now
but everyone is expecting him to perform a tremendous inning in his batting
as well. Shadab khan in his interview said that:
"When I played my first match, Wasim bhai told me to relax. He knew that I
might, at some stage, would be tested under pressure but he told me to
breathe easy and to keep calm. Whatever I have earned so far is because I
worked very hard for it and it's paying me back. I have 80% control on my
bowling and I know I have a lot to learn and have to work very hard. My
googly is natural and I don't want to change that, I am working hard on my
flipper as legspin bowling is a difficult art in cricket and I need to work
hard to stay relevant”.
2017, proved to be the best year for this guy, in all the three formats of
cricket respectively ODI,T20 and test the performance was upto the mark
similarly a key player in the squad for his all round performance. The T20
league such as Carribean premier league, Bpl etc the performance of this guy
proved to be the best of the best. Further the remarkable ICC Champions
trophy, won by Pakistan Shadab khan was the leading legspinner of the team
and he proved himself as a confident bowler as well as batsman. According to
the critics Shadab khan is the bright future for Pakistan cricket team.
