قَالَ الْمَلَاُ الَّذِیْنَ اسْتَكْبَرُوْا مِنْ قَوْمِهٖ لَنُخْرِجَنَّكَ یٰشُعَیْبُ وَ الَّذِیْنَ اٰمَنُوْا مَعَكَ مِنْ قَرْیَتِنَاۤ اَوْ لَتَعُوْدُنَّ فِیْ مِلَّتِنَاؕ-قَالَ اَوَ لَوْ كُنَّا كٰرِهِیْنَﭦ ﴿۸۸﴾

اس کی قوم کے متکبر سردار بولے، اے شعیب قسم ہے کہ ہم تمہیں اور تمہارے ساتھ والے مسلمانوں کو اپنی بستی سے نکا ل دیں گے یا تم ہمارے دین میں ا ٓجا ؤ کہا (ف۱۶۷) کیا اگرچہ ہم بیزار ہوں(ف۱۶۸) ﴿۸۸﴾
(ترجمہ: کنزالایمان) (تو) ان کی قوم میں جو لوگ سردار اور بڑے آدمی تھے، وہ کہنے لگے کہ شعیب! (یا تو) ہم تم کو اور جو لوگ تمہارے ساتھ ایمان لائے ہیں، ان کو اپنے شہر سے نکال دیں گے۔ یا تم ہمارے مذہب میں آجاؤ۔ انہوں نے کہا خواہ ہم (تمہارے دین سے) بیزار ہی ہوں (تو بھی؟) ﴿۸۸﴾

The chieftains of his people, who were scornful, said: Surely we will drive thee out, O Shu'eyb, and those who believe with thee, from our township, unless ye return to our religion. He said: Even though we hate it? ﴾88﴿
