یٰۤاَیُّهَا الَّذِیْنَ اٰمَنُوْا لَا تُبْطِلُوْا صَدَقٰتِكُمْ بِالْمَنِّ وَ الْاَذٰىۙ-كَالَّذِیْ یُنْفِقُ مَالَهٗ رِئَآءَ النَّاسِ وَ لَا یُؤْمِنُ بِاللّٰهِ وَ الْیَوْمِ الْاٰخِرِؕ-فَمَثَلُهٗ كَمَثَلِ صَفْوَانٍ عَلَیْهِ تُرَابٌ فَاَصَابَهٗ وَابِلٌ فَتَرَكَهٗ صَلْدًاؕ-لَا یَقْدِرُوْنَ عَلٰى شَیْءٍ مِّمَّا كَسَبُوْاؕ-وَ اللّٰهُ لَا یَهْدِی الْقَوْمَ الْكٰفِرِیْنَ ﴿۲۶۴﴾

اے ایمان والوں اپنے صدقے باطل نہ کردو احسان رکھ کر اور ایذا دے کر (ف۵۵۴) اس کی طرح جو اپنا مال لوگوں کے دکھاوے کے لئے خرچ کرے اور اللہ اور قیامت پر ایمان نہ لائے، تو اس کی کہاوت ایسی ہے جیسے ایک چٹان کہ اس پر مٹی ہے اب اس پر زور کا پانی پڑا جس نے اسے نرا پتھر کر چھوڑا (ف۵۵۵) اپنی کمائی سے کسی چیز پر قابو نہ پائیں گے، اور اللہ کافروں کو راہ نہیں دیتا، ﴿۲۶۴﴾
(ترجمہ: کنزالایمان) مومنو! اپنے صدقات (وخیرات)احسان رکھنے اور ایذا دینے سے اس شخص کی طرح برباد نہ کردینا۔ جو لوگوں کو دکھاوے کے لئے مال خرچ کرتا ہے اور خدا اور روز آخرت پر ایمان نہیں رکھتا۔ تو اس (کے مال) کی مثال اس چٹان کی سی ہے جس پر تھوڑی سی مٹی پڑی ہو اور اس پر زور کا مینہ برس کر اسے صاف کر ڈالے۔ (اسی طرح) یہ (ریاکار) لوگ اپنے اعمال کا کچھ بھی صلہ حاصل نہیں کرسکیں گے۔ اور خدا ایسے ناشکروں کو ہدایت نہیں دیا کرتا ﴿۲۶۴﴾

Surah Baqarah Ayat 264 with English Translation

O ye who believe! Render not vain your almsgiving by reproach and injury, like him who spendeth his wealth only to be seen of men and believeth not in Allah and the Last Day. His likeness is as the likeness of a rock whereon is dust of earth; a rainstorm smiteth it, leaving it smooth and bare. They have no control of aught of that which they have gained. Allah guideth not the disbelieving folk. ﴾264﴿
