Surah Baqarah Ayat 96 in Arabic
وَلَتَجِدَنَّهُمۡ اَحۡرَصَ النَّاسِ عَلٰى حَيٰوةٍ ۛۚ وَ مِنَ الَّذِيۡنَ اَشۡرَكُوۡا ۛۚ يَوَدُّ اَحَدُهُمۡ لَوۡ يُعَمَّرُ اَلۡفَ سَنَةٍۚ وَمَا هُوَ بِمُزَحۡزِحِهٖ مِنَ الۡعَذَابِ اَنۡ يُّعَمَّرَؕ وَاللّٰهُ بَصِيۡرٌۢ بِمَا يَعۡمَلُوۡنَ ﴿۹۶﴾
Surah Baqarah Ayat 96 with Urdu Translation
اور بیشک تم ضرور انہیں پاؤ گے کہ سب لوگوں سے زیادہ جینے کی ہوس رکھتے ہیں اور مشرکوں سے ایک کو تمنا ہے کہ کہیں ہزار برس جئے (ف۱۶۸) اور وہ اسے عذاب سے دور نہ کرے گا اتنی عمر دیا جانا اور اللہ ان کے کوتک دیکھ رہا ہے، ﴿۹۶﴾

بلکہ ان کو تم اور لوگوں سے زندگی کے کہیں حریص دیکھو گے، یہاں تک کہ مشرکوں سے بھی۔ ان میں سے ہر ایک یہی خواہش کرتا ہے کہ کاش وہ ہزار برس جیتا رہے، مگر اتنی لمبی عمر اس کو مل بھی جائے تو اسے عذاب سے تو نہیں چھڑا سکتی۔ اور جو کام یہ کرتے ہیں، خدا ان کو دیکھ رہا ہے ﴿۹۶﴾

Surah Baqarah Ayat 96 with English Translation
And thou wilt find them greediest of mankind for life and (greedier) than the idolaters. (Each) one of them would like to be allowed to live a thousand years. And to live (a thousand years) would be no means remove him from the doom. Allah is Seer of what they do. ﴾96﴿
