بَلْ ظَنَنْتُمْ اَنْ لَّنْ یَّنْقَلِبَ الرَّسُوْلُ وَ الْمُؤْمِنُوْنَ اِلٰۤى اَهْلِیْهِمْ اَبَدًا وَّ زُیِّنَ ذٰلِكَ فِیْ قُلُوْبِكُمْ وَ ظَنَنْتُمْ ظَنَّ السَّوْءِ ۚۖ-وَ كُنْتُمْ قَوْمًۢا بُوْرًا ﴿۱۲﴾

بلکہ تم تو یہ سمجھے ہوئے تھے کہ رسول اور مسلمان ہرگز گھروں کو واپس نہ آئیں گے (ف۲۴) اور اسی کو اپنے دلوں میں بھلا سمجھیں ہوئے تھے اور تم نے برا گمان کیا (ف۲۵) اور تم ہلاک ہونے والے لوگ تھے (ف۲۶) ﴿۱۲﴾
(ترجمہ: کنزالایمان) بات یہ ہے کہ تم لوگ یہ سمجھ بیٹھے تھے کہ پیغمبر اور مومن اپنے اہل وعیال میں کبھی لوٹ کر آنے ہی کے نہیں۔ اور یہی بات تمہارے دلوں کو اچھی معلوم ہوئی۔ اور (اسی وجہ سے) تم نے برے برے خیال کئے اور (آخرکار) تم ہلاکت میں پڑ گئے ﴿۱۲﴾

Nay, but ye deemed that the messenger and the believers would never return to their own folk, and that was made fairseeming in your hearts, and ye did think an evil thought, and ye were worthless folk. ﴾12﴿
