حَتّٰۤى اِذَا جَآءَ اَمْرُنَا وَ فَارَ التَّنُّوْرُۙ-قُلْنَا احْمِلْ فِیْهَا مِنْ كُلٍّ زَوْجَیْنِ اثْنَیْنِ وَ اَهْلَكَ اِلَّا مَنْ سَبَقَ عَلَیْهِ الْقَوْلُ وَ مَنْ اٰمَنَؕ-وَ مَاۤ اٰمَنَ مَعَهٗۤ اِلَّا قَلِیْلٌ ﴿۴۰﴾

یہاں تک کہ کہ جب ہمارا حکم آیا (ف۸۵) اور تنور اُبلا (ف۸۶) ہم نے فرمایا کشتی میں سوار کرلے ہر جنس میں سے ایک جوڑا نر و مادہ اور جن پر بات پڑچکی ہے (ف۸۷) ان کے سوا اپنے گھر والوں اور باقی مسلمانوں کو اور اس کے ساتھ مسلمان نہ تھے مگر تھوڑے (ف۸۸) ﴿۴۰﴾
(ترجمہ: کنزالایمان) یہاں تک کہ جب ہمارا حکم آپہنچا اور تنور جوش مارنے لگا تو ہم نے نوح کو حکم دیا کہ ہر قسم (کے جانداروں) میں سے جوڑا جوڑا (یعنی) دو (دو جانور۔ ایک ایک نر اور ایک ایک مادہ) لے لو اور جس شخص کی نسبت حکم ہوچکا ہے (کہ ہلاک ہوجائے گا) اس کو چھوڑ کر اپنے گھر والوں کو جو ایمان لایا ہو اس کو کشتی میں سوار کر لو اور ان کے ساتھ ایمان بہت ہی کم لوگ لائے تھے ﴿۴۰﴾

(Thus it was) till, when Our commandment came to pass and the oven gushed forth water, We said: Load therein two of every kind, a pair (the male and female), and thy household, save him against whom the word hath gone forth already, and those who believe. And but a few were they who believed with him. ﴾40﴿
