Surah Yunus is the Makki Surah, and it has 109 verses. This surah is the tenth Surah of the Holy Quran. It is named after Prophet Yunus and he is mentioned in verse 98. The initial 1 to 70 verses of Surah Yunus is based on arguments and dialogue between Islam and non -believers. The rest of the Surah comprises of stories of Prophet Nun, Prophet Musa, and Prophet Yunus.
According to Imam Ja’far as-Sadiq (رضی اللہ عنہ), those believers who recite Surah Yunus for up to three months will be placed among the close ones to Allah on the Day of Reckoning. If someone recited Surah, he/she will receive numerous rewards equal to a number of people present in the Prophet Yunus (عليه السلام) community.
