Surah Yusuf is the 12th Surah of the Holy Quran. This Surah has 111 Ayat/ verses and 12 Rukus. It was revealed in Makkah. The name of this Surah narrates the story of Hazrat Yusuf (عليه السلام). He was one of the sons of Hazrat Yaqub (عليه السلام), who has the talent of interpreting dreams. The most significant aspect of Surah Yusuf is that it is revealed in one sitting. Unlike other Surah, this one is focused entirely on central topic throughout.
Major themes of Surah include faith on Prophets who came before Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم). Prophet Ibrahim, Prophet Ya’qoob, Prophet Ishaaq, and Prophet Yusuf invited the believers to the message of Allah. This Surah also focuses on describing the character of Muslims. A true Muslim is aware that he is accountable in front of Allah Almighty for all these actions and deeds. Restricted by Divine law, Muslims pursues their goals. Muslims also have a firm belief that failure and success are in the hands of Allah. Efforts and faith in Allah Almighty is the best policy of Muslims as described in Surah Yusuf. In this Surah, narrating the story of Hazrat Yusuf (عليه السلام), Allah taught the believers that a person who possesses true Islamic character can master the world with their strong character.
