حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُنِيرٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عَامِرٍ، عَنْ هَمَّامٍ، عَنْ أَبِي غَالِبٍ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ عَلَى جَنَازَةِ رَجُلٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَامَ حِيَالَ رَأْسِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ جَاءُوا بِجَنَازَةِ امْرَأَةٍ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ يَا أَبَا حَمْزَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏صَلِّ عَلَيْهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَامَ حِيَالَ وَسَطِ السَّرِيرِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ لَهُ الْعَلَاءُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ:‏‏‏‏ هَكَذَا رَأَيْتَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَامَ عَلَى الْجَنَازَةِ مُقَامَكَ مِنْهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمِنَ الرَّجُلِ مُقَامَكَ مِنْهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ نَعَمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ احْفَظُوا . وَفِي الْبَاب:‏‏‏‏ عَنْ سَمُرَةَ. قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ حَدِيثُ أَنَسٍ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ رَوَى غَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ هَمَّامٍ مِثْلَ هَذَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَرَوَى وَكِيعٌ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ هَمَّامٍ فَوَهِمَ فِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ عَنْ غَالِبٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، وَالصَّحِيحُ عَنْ أَبِي غَالِبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ رَوَى هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، وَغَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي غَالِبٍ مِثْلَ رِوَايَةِ هَمَّامٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَاخْتَلَفُوا فِي اسْمِ أَبِي غَالِبٍ هَذَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ بَعْضُهُمْ:‏‏‏‏ يُقَالُ:‏‏‏‏ اسْمُهُ نَافِعٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَيُقَالُ:‏‏‏‏ رَافِعٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ ذَهَبَ بَعْضُ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ إِلَى هَذَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَهُوَ قَوْلُ:‏‏‏‏ أَحْمَدَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَإِسْحَاق.

Urdu Translation

ابوغالب کہتے ہیں کہ   میں نے انس بن مالک کے ساتھ ایک آدمی کی نماز جنازہ پڑھی تو وہ اس کے سر کے سامنے کھڑے ہوئے۔ پھر لوگ قریش کی ایک عورت کا جنازہ لے کر آئے اور کہا: ابوحمزہ! اس کی بھی نماز جنازہ پڑھا دیجئیے، تو وہ چارپائی کے بیچ میں یعنی عورت کی کمر کے سامنے کھڑے ہوئے، تو ان سے علاء بن زیاد نے پوچھا: آپ نے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو عورت اور مرد کے جنازے میں اسی طرح کھڑے ہوتے دیکھا ہے۔ جیسے آپ کھڑے ہوئے تھے؟ تو انہوں نے کہا: ہاں ۱؎۔ اور جب جنازہ سے فارغ ہوئے تو کہا: اس طریقہ کو یاد کر لو۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- انس کی یہ حدیث حسن ہے، ۲- اور کئی لوگوں نے بھی ہمام سے اسی کے مثل روایت کی ہے۔ وکیع نے بھی یہ حدیث ہمام سے روایت کی ہے، لیکن انہیں وہم ہوا ہے۔ انہوں نے «عن غالب عن أنس» کہا ہے اور صحیح «عن ابی غالب» ہے، عبدالوارث بن سعید اور دیگر کئی لوگوں نے ابوغالب سے روایت کی ہے جیسے ہمام کی روایت ہے، ۳- اس باب میں سمرہ سے بھی روایت ہے، ۴- بعض اہل علم اسی طرف گئے ہیں۔ اور یہی احمد اور اسحاق بن راہویہ کا بھی قول ہے۔ فائدہ ۱؎: اس حدیث سے معلوم ہوا کہ عورت کی نماز جنازہ ہو تو امام اس کی کمر کے پاس کھڑا ہو گا، اور امام کو مرد کے سر کے بالمقابل کھڑا ہونا چاہیئے کیونکہ انس بن مالک نے عبداللہ بن عمیر کا جنازہ ان کے سر کے پاس ہی کھڑے ہو کر پڑھایا تھا اور علاء بن زیاد کے پوچھنے پر انہوں نے کہا تھا کہ میں نے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو ایسے ہی کرتے دیکھا ہے۔

English Translation

Abu Ghalib narrated: I prayed for the funeral of a man with Anas bin Malik, so he stood parallel to his head. Then they came with the body of a woman from the Quraish. They said: 'O Abu Hamzah perform the prayer for her.' So he stood parallel to her waist. Al-Ala bin Ziyad said to him: 'Is this how you saw the Messenger of Allah standing in the place for the funeral as you did for her, and for a place that you stood for the man?' He said: 'Yes.' When he was finished he said: 'Remember (this).'
