حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو السَّوَّاقُ الْبَلْخِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ. ح قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وحَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ الْجُعْفِيُّ، عَنْ زَائِدَةَ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ سَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ الْمَذْيِ،‏‏‏‏ فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مِنَ الْمَذْيِ الْوُضُوءُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمِنَ الْمَنِيِّ الْغُسْلُ . قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ الْمِقْدَادِ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ،‏‏‏‏ وَأُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ. قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ رُوِيَ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ غَيْرِ وَجْهٍ:‏‏‏‏ مِنَ الْمَذْيِ الْوُضُوءُ وَمِنَ الْمَنِيِّ الْغُسْلُ،‏‏‏‏ وَهُوَ قَوْلُ عَامَّةِ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَالتَّابِعِينَ وَمَنْ بَعْدَهُمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَبِهِ يَقُولُ سُفْيَانُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالشَّافِعِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَحْمَدُ،‏‏‏‏ وَإِسْحَاق.

Urdu Translation

علی رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   میں نے نبی اکرم صلی الله علیہ وسلم سے مذی ۱؎ کے بارے میں پوچھا تو آپ نے فرمایا: ”مذی سے وضو ہے اور منی سے غسل“ ۲؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- اس باب میں مقداد بن اسود اور ابی بن کعب رضی الله عنہما سے بھی احادیث آئی ہیں، ۳- علی بن ابی طالب رضی الله عنہ سے کئی سندوں سے مرفوعاً مروی ہے کہ ”مذی سے وضو ہے، اور منی سے غسل“، ۴- صحابہ کرام اور تابعین میں سے اکثر اہل علم کا یہی قول ہے، اور سفیان، شافعی، احمد اور اسحاق بن راہویہ بھی یہی کہتے ہیں۔

English Translation

Ali narrated: I asked the Prophet about Al-Madhi. He said: For Al-Madhi is Wudu, and for AI-Mani is Ghusl.
