حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ،‏‏‏‏ أَنْبَأَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ، وَغَيْرُهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أَبِيهِ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ جَدِّهِ،‏‏‏‏ أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ فِي خُطْبَتِهِ:‏‏‏‏ الْبَيِّنَةُ عَلَى الْمُدَّعِي،‏‏‏‏ وَالْيَمِينُ عَلَى الْمُدَّعَى عَلَيْهِ . هَذَا حَدِيثٌ فِي إِسْنَادِهِ مَقَالٌ،‏‏‏‏ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ الْعَرْزَمِيُّ يُضَعَّفُ فِي الْحَدِيثِ مِنْ قِبَلِ حِفْظِهِ،‏‏‏‏ ضَعَّفَهُ ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ وَغَيْرُهُ.

Urdu Translation

عبداللہ بن عمرو رضی الله عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ   نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اپنے خطبہ میں فرمایا: ”گواہ مدعی کے ذمہ ہے اور قسم مدعی علیہ کے ذمہ ہے“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: اس حدیث کی سند میں کلام ہے۔ محمد بن عبیداللہ عرزمی اپنے حفظ کے تعلق سے حدیث میں ضعیف گردانے جاتے ہیں۔ ابن مبارک وغیرہ نے ان کی تضعیف کی ہے۔

English Translation

Amr bin Shu'aib narrated from his father, from his grandfather, that during a Khutbah, the Prophet (ﷺ) said: The proof is due from the claimant, and the oath is due from the one the claim is made against.
