Baab Sunnaton Ka Bayan

حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، أَنْبَأَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، قَال:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَمْرٍو الشَّيْبَانِيَّ يُحَدِّثُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ الْبَدْرِيِّ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَسْتَحْمِلُهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّهُ قَدْ أُبْدِعَ بِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ ائْتِ فُلَانًا ،‏‏‏‏ فَأَتَاهُ فَحَمَلَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ مَنْ دَلَّ عَلَى خَيْرٍ فَلَهُ مِثْلُ أَجْرِ فَاعِلِهِ أَوْ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ عَامِلِهِ ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَبُو عَمْرٍو الشَّيْبَانِيُّ اسْمُهُ:‏‏‏‏ سَعْدُ بْنُ إِيَاسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَبُو مَسْعُودٍ الْبَدْرِيُّ اسْمُهُ:‏‏‏‏ عُقْبَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو.

Urdu Translation

ابومسعود بدری رضی الله عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ   ایک شخص رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس سواری مانگنے آیا، اور کہا: میں بے سواری کے ہو گیا ہوں تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اس سے کہا: ”تم فلاں شخص کے پاس جاؤ“، چنانچہ وہ اس شخص کے پاس گیا اور اس نے اسے سواری دے دی تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”جس نے بھلائی کا راستہ دکھایا تو اسے اتنا ہی اجر ملتا ہے جتنا کہ اس کے کرنے والے کو ملتا ہے“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، اور ابومسعود بدری کا نام عقبہ بن عمرو ہے۔

English Translation

Narrated Abu Mas'ud Al-Badri: that a man came to the Prophet (ﷺ) looking for a mount, he said: 'Mine has been ruined.' So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Go to so-and-so.' So he went to him and he gave him a mount. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Whoever leads to good, then for him is the same reward as the one who does it - or - who acts upon it.'
