Baab Aadaab O Ikhlaq Ka Bayan

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ وَكِيعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، أَنَّ عَمْرَو بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ صَفْوَانَ أَخْبَرَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ كَلَدَةَ بْنَ حَنْبَلٍ أَخْبَرَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ صَفْوَانَ بْنَ أُمَيَّةَ بَعَثَهُ بِلَبَنٍ وَلِبَإٍ وَضَغَابِيسَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالنَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِأَعْلَى الْوَادِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَدَخَلْتُ عَلَيْهِ وَلَمْ أُسَلِّمْ وَلَمْ أَسْتَأْذِنْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ ارْجِعْ فَقُلِ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ أَأَدْخُلُ ؟ وَذَلِكَ بَعْدَ مَا أَسْلَمَ صَفْوَانُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ عَمْرٌو:‏‏‏‏ وَأَخْبَرَنِي بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ أُمَيَّةُ بْنُ صَفْوَانَ وَلَمْ يَقُلْ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ كَلَدَةَ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏لَا نَعْرِفُهُ إِلَّا مِنْ حَدِيثِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَرَوَاهُ أَبُو عَاصِمٍ أَيْضًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ مِثْلَ هَذَا،‏‏‏‏ وَضَغَابِيسُ هُوَ:‏‏‏‏ حَشِيشٌ يُوكَلُ.

Urdu Translation

کلدہ بن حنبل رضی الله عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ   صفوان بن امیہ نے انہیں دودھ، پیوسی اور ککڑی کے ٹکڑے دے کر نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس بھیجا اور آپ اس وقت مکہ کے اونچائی والے حصہ میں تھے، میں آپ کے پاس اجازت لیے اور سلام کئے بغیر چلا گیا تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”واپس باہر جاؤ، پھر کہو «السلام علیکم»،‏‏‏‏ کیا میں اندر آ سکتا ہوں؟“ یہ اس وقت کی بات ہے جب صفوان اسلام لا چکے تھے۔ عمرو بن عبداللہ کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث امیہ بن صفوان نے مجھ سے بیان کی ہے لیکن انہوں نے یہ نہیں کہا کہ یہ حدیث میں نے کلدہ سے سنی ہے۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن غریب ہے، ۲- اسے ہم صرف ابن جریج کی روایت ہی سے جانتے ہیں، ۳- ابوعاصم نے بھی ابن جریج سے اسی طرح روایت کی ہے۔

English Translation

Narrated 'Amr bin Abi Sufyan: that 'Amr bin 'Abdullah bin Safwan informed him, that Kaladah bin Hanbal had informed him, that Safwan bin Umayyah sent him to bring some milk, colostrum, and Daghabis (a type of herb) to the Prophet (ﷺ) while he was in the upper valley. (He said): I entered upon him without seeking permission nor giving Salam. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: 'Go back and say: As-Salamu Alaykum, may I enter?' And that was after Safwan had accepted Islam.
