حَدَّثَنَا سُوَيْدٌ بْنِ نَصْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ، عَنْ ذَكْوَانَ، عَنْ مَوْلَى عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ، أَنَّ عَمْرَو بْنَ الْعَاصِ أَرْسَلَهُ إِلَى عَلِيٍّ يَسْتَأْذِنُهُ عَلَى أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ عُمَيْسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأُذِنَ لَهُ حَتَّى إِذَا فَرَغَ مِنْ حَاجَتِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏سَأَلَ الْمَوْلَى عَمْرَو بْنَ الْعَاصِ عَنْ ذَلِكَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَانَا أَوْ نَهَى أَنْ نَدْخُلَ عَلَى النِّسَاءِ بِغَيْرِ إِذْنِ أَزْوَاجِهِنَّ وَفِي الْبَابِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَجَابِرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ.

Urdu Translation

عمرو بن العاص رضی الله عنہ کے مولیٰ (آزاد کردہ غلام) سے روایت ہے کہ   عمرو بن العاص رضی الله عنہ نے انہیں علی رضی الله عنہ کے پاس ( ان کی بیوی ) اسماء بنت عمیس ۱؎ سے ملاقات کی اجازت مانگنے کے لیے بھیجا، تو انہوں نے اجازت دے دی، پھر جب وہ جس ضرورت سے گئے تھے اس سے کہہ سن کر فارغ ہوئے تو ان کے مولیٰ ( آزاد کردہ غلام ) نے ان سے ( اس کے متعلق پوچھا، تو انہوں نے کہا: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ہمیں عورتوں کے پاس ان کے شوہروں سے اجازت لیے بغیر جانے سے منع فرمایا ہے ۲؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- اس باب میں عقبہ بن عامر، عبداللہ بن عمرو اور جابر رضی الله عنہم سے بھی احادیث آئی ہیں۔

English Translation

Narrated Dhakwan: from the freed slave of 'Amr bin Al-'As that 'Amr bin Al-'As sent him to 'Ali seeking his permission to enter upon Asma bint Umais, so he permitted him. When he was finished from what he needed, the freed slave of 'Amr bin Al-'As asked about that, so he said: Indeed the Prophet (ﷺ) prohibited us - or - prohibited that we enter upon women, without the permission of their husbands.
