Narrated Anas: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: The parable of my Ummah is that of a rain; it is not known if its beginning is better or its end.

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْأَبَحُّ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ مَثَلُ أُمَّتِي مَثَلُ الْمَطَرِ لَا يُدْرَى أَوَّلُهُ خَيْرٌ أَمْ آخِرُهُ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَفِي الْبَابِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَمَّارٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَابْنِ عُمَرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ وَهَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَرُوِي عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَهْدِيٍّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّهُ كَانَ يُثَبِّتُ حَمَّادَ بْنَ يَحْيَى الْأَبَحَّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَكَانَ يَقُولُ هُوَ مِنْ شُيُوخِنَا.

انس رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”میری امت کی مثال بارش کی ہے، نہیں کہا جا سکتا کہ اس کا اول بہتر ہے یا اس کا آخر“ ۱؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث اس سند سے حسن غریب ہے، ۲- اس باب میں عمار، عبداللہ بن عمرو اور ابن عمر رضی الله عنہم سے بھی احادیث آئی ہیں، ۳- عبدالرحمٰن بن مہدی سے روایت ہے کہ وہ حماد بن یحییٰ الابح کی تائید و تصدیق کرتے تھے اور کہتے تھے کہ وہ ہمارے اساتذہ میں سے ہیں۔ فائدہ ۱؎: معلوم ہوا کہ امت کا ہر فرد بھلائی کے کاموں میں ایک دوسرے سے جڑا ہوا ہے، نہیں معلوم اس میں سے کس کو کب اور کس وقت دوسرے سے خیر و برکت پہنچ جائے۔
