حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَى، عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاق، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مَاتَ رِجَالٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَبْلَ أَنْ تُحَرَّمَ الْخَمْرُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلَمَّا حُرِّمَتِ الْخَمْرُ قَالَ رِجَالٌ:‏‏‏‏ كَيْفَ بِأَصْحَابِنَا وَقَدْ مَاتُوا يَشْرَبُونَ الْخَمْرَ ؟ فَنَزَلَتْ لَيْسَ عَلَى الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ جُنَاحٌ فِيمَا طَعِمُوا إِذَا مَا اتَّقَوْا وَآمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ سورة المائدة آية 93 ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ رَوَاهُ شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاق، عَنْ الْبَرَاءِ أَيْضًا.

Urdu Translation

براء بن عازب رضی الله عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ   شراب کے حرام ہونے سے پہلے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے کچھ صحابہ انتقال فرما گئے۔ پھر جب شراب حرام ہو گئی تو کچھ لوگوں نے کہا: ہمارے ان ساتھیوں کا کیا ہو گا جو شراب پیتے تھے اور انتقال کر گئے، تو آیت نازل ہوئی «ليس على الذين آمنوا وعملوا الصالحات جناح فيما طعموا إذا ما اتقوا وآمنوا وعملوا الصالحات» ”جو لوگ ایمان لائے اور نیک عمل کیے ( قبل حرمت ) وہ جو کچھ کھا پی چکے ہیں ان پر کوئی گناہ نہیں ہے جب کہ وہ ( قبل حرمت کھاتے وقت ) متقی رہے، ایمان پر رہے اور نیک عمل کرتے رہے“ ( المائدہ: ۹۳ ) ۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- شعبہ نے بھی ابواسحاق کے واسطہ سے براء سے روایت کی ہے۔

English Translation

Narrated Al-Bara: A man among the Companions of the Prophet (ﷺ) died before Khamr had been made unlawful. So when Khamr was made unlawful, some men said: 'How about our companions who died while drinking Khamr?' So (the following) was revealed: Those who believe and do righteous good deeds, there is no sin on them for what the ate, if they have Taqwa and perform good (5:93).
