حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ، وَالْأَسْوَدِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنِّي عَالَجْتُ امْرَأَةً فِي أَقْصَى الْمَدِينَةِ وَإِنِّي أَصَبْتُ مِنْهَا مَا دُونَ أَنْ أَمَسَّهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَنَا هَذَا فَاقْضِ فِيَّ مَا شِئْتَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ لَهُ عُمَرُ:‏‏‏‏ لَقَدْ سَتَرَكَ اللَّهُ لَوْ سَتَرْتَ عَلَى نَفْسِكَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلَمْ يَرُدَّ عَلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَيْئًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَانْطَلَقَ الرَّجُلُ فَأَتْبَعَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجُلًا فَدَعَاهُ فَتَلَا عَلَيْهِ وَأَقِمِ الصَّلاةَ طَرَفَيِ النَّهَارِ وَزُلَفًا مِنَ اللَّيْلِ إِنَّ الْحَسَنَاتِ يُذْهِبْنَ السَّيِّئَاتِ ذَلِكَ ذِكْرَى لِلذَّاكِرِينَ سورة هود آية 114 إِلَى آخِرِ الْآيَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا لَهُ خَاصَّةً، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ لَا بَلْ لِلنَّاسِ كَافَّةً ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَهَكَذَا رَوَى إِسْرَائِيلُ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ، وَالْأَسْوَدِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَحْوَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَرَوَى سُفْيَانُ الثَّوْرِيُّ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِثْلَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَرِوَايَةُ هَؤُلَاءِ أَصَحُّ مِنْ رِوَايَةِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَرَوَى شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَحْوَهُ.

Urdu Translation

عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   ایک شخص نے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آ کر عرض کیا: شہر کے بیرونی علاقے میں ایک عورت سے میں ملا اور سوائے جماع کے اس کے ساتھ میں نے سب کچھ کیا، اور اب بذات خود میں یہاں موجود ہوں، تو آپ اب میرے بارے میں جو فیصلہ چاہیں صادر فرمائیں ( میں وہ سزا جھیلنے کے لیے تیار ہوں ) عمر رضی الله عنہ نے اس سے کہا: اللہ نے تیری پردہ پوشی کی ہے کاش تو نے بھی اپنے نفس کی پردہ پوشی کی ہوتی۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اسے کوئی جواب نہ دیا، اور وہ آدمی چلا گیا۔ پھر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اس کے پیچھے ایک آدمی بھیج کر اسے بلایا اور اسے آیت «وأقم الصلاة طرفي النهار وزلفا من الليل إن الحسنات يذهبن السيئات ذلك ذكرى للذاكرين» ”نماز قائم کرو دن کے دونوں کناروں میں اور رات کے حصوں میں، بیشک نیکیاں برائیوں کو دور کر دیتی ہیں۔ یہ نصیحت ہے یاد رکھنے والوں کے لیے“ ( ہود: ۱۱۴ ) ، تک پڑھ کر سنائی۔ ایک صحابی نے کہا: کیا یہ ( بشارت ) اس شخص کے لیے خاص ہے؟ آپ نے فرمایا: ”نہیں، بلکہ سب کے لیے ہے“ ۲؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- اسی طرح اسی جیسی روایت کی ہے اسرائیل نے سماک سے، سماک نے ابراہیم سے، ابراہیم نے علقمہ اور اسود سے، اور ان دونوں نے عبداللہ کے واسطہ سے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے، ۳- اور اسی سفیان ثوری نے سماک سے، سماک نے ابراہیم سے، ابراہیم نے عبدالرحمٰن بن یزید سے اور عبدالرحمٰن نے عبداللہ کے واسطہ سے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے اور ان لوگوں کی روایت سفیان ثوری کی روایت سے زیادہ صحیح ہے ۳؎، ۴- شعبہ نے سماک بن حرب سے، سماک نے ابراہیم سے، ابراہیم نے اسود سے اور اسود نے عبداللہ کے واسطہ سے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے۔

English Translation

Narrated 'Abdullah: A man came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said: 'I fondled a woman who lives on the edge of Al-Madinah, and I did with her what is less than intercourse, and here I am, so judge in my case as you will.' So 'Umar said to him: 'Allah covered you, so you should have covered yourself.' The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) did not give him any reply. The man left but the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) sent a man after him to call him. He recited to him: 'And perform Salat, at the two ends of the day and in some hours of the night. Verily, the good deeds remove the evil deeds. That is a reminder for the mindful (11:114) until the end of the Ayah. A man among the people said: 'Is this specific for him?' He (ﷺ) said: 'No. Rather for all of the people.'
