حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ التَّيْمِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ، عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَصَابَ مِنَ امْرَأَةٍ قُبْلَةَ حَرَامٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأَتَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَسَأَلَهُ عَنْ كَفَّارَتِهَا فَنَزَلَتْ وَأَقِمِ الصَّلاةَ طَرَفَيِ النَّهَارِ وَزُلَفًا مِنَ اللَّيْلِ إِنَّ الْحَسَنَاتِ يُذْهِبْنَ السَّيِّئَاتِ سورة هود آية 114، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ:‏‏‏‏ أَلِي هَذِهِ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ لَكَ وَلِمَنْ عَمِلَ بِهَا مِنْ أُمَّتِي ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ.

Urdu Translation

عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی الله عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ   ایک شخص نے ایک ( غیر محرم ) عورت کا ناجائز بوسہ لے لیا پھر نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آ کر پوچھا کہ اس کا کفارہ کیا ہے؟ اس پر آیت «وأقم الصلاة طرفي النهار وزلفا من الليل إن الحسنات يذهبن السيئات» نازل ہوئی، اس شخص نے پوچھا کیا یہ ( کفارہ ) صرف میرے لیے ہے؟ آپ نے فرمایا: ”یہ تمہارے لیے ہے اور میری امت کے ہر اس شخص کے لیے جو یہ غلطی کر بیٹھے“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے۔

English Translation

Narrated Ibn Mas'ud: that a man unlawfully kissed a woman. So he came to the Prophet (ﷺ) to ask him about its atonement. So (the following) Ayah was revealed: And perform the Salat, at the two ends of the day and in some hours of the night (11:114). The man said: Is this for me O Messenger of Allah? He said: For you and for whoever does that among my Ummah.
